Also is there a simulator built in or a way to test your creations? Thanks for your time! Re: Trial limitations of software Post by Wemme » Thu Jun 08, am Revteck wrote: Can I ask what they are.

With the trial versions you can cut the sample files on your own machine using your own choice of tooling and material. Step by step tutorials and videos are available to guide you through the complete process, so you will be cutting on your CNC faster than you would have thought possible.

In addition to cutting the provided sample files, you can load any files of your own and calculate and preview the toolpaths using the programs built in simulation capabilities. Post by Burchtree » Thu Jun 08, pm Rev I would like to add that I first learned of VCW on the ShopBot forum.

I downloaded the trial version and imported some vector art images. I was very impressed with what the finished piece would look like in the preview all toolpaths mode.

Preview is one thing but would it look that way when I cut it? I created a cut file of the sample flower, previewed it and ran it on the ShopBot.

I knew I was buying this program before it was done cutting. It was cutting the flower identical to what I saw in the preview. I have to say it is impossible to find a program like VCW Dan.

The only other thing that I could add to your post, is the support and help that the WIZARDS uuhmm I mean Tony and Brian and the rest of their staff provide. Post by Revteck » Fri Jun 09, am Thanks!

It's not that I don't plan on buying it! I have seen all the samples and read most of the post. I think it's awesome! Why doesn't Scanahand? Post by Erwin Denissen » Tue May 20, pm Yillup wrote: While it's great that you can preview a font in the actual program, this doesn't allow me to do the same things as if I had my usual word processing documents open, and as such I can't fully evaluate if I actually want to purchase this product.

Erwin Denissen High-Logic Proven Font Technology. Post by Yillup » Wed May 21, am I would be using the fonts I create in digital scrapbooking. As such I would be using them for word art and in photoshop. The abilities to manipulate a font after creating it is something you cannot do with the sample shown in scanahand.

It doesn't show you what the font will look like when in outline, mirrored, etc. Possibly if you would prefer the program to completely not function after the trial period is there a way to make the fonts un-useable after the trial has finished?

I'm unsure of the technical aspects of fonts. To not know until you get the little comment at the end "oops" is irritating. The "oops" to me was very condescending like I had done something wrong, had made a mistake as is the common useage of the word oops.

I was seriously considering buying this as I know many family and friends who scrapbook and would LOVE to use their own handwriting on a digital layout , but that "oops" comment when you attempt to save a font has me so annoyed I almost don't want to bother.

Re: Trial version Post by andy » Mon Jan 09, pm I too decided to download the trial version. Great, scanned in my alphabet and copied it all over..

Then i cant do anything. Not really a trial is it. Thats like looking at a car in a show room, playing with everything but not being allowed to take it out on the road. I only want to make 26 letters that are a unique font to the UK railways that you cant get else where to complete a model I'm making, this product being the only one that allows me to copy and paste my letters in which is brilliant by the way but I really cannot justify the full version for something I may use once or twice.

Its not like I can then decide to sell it on and get my money back like a physical item. Can you rethink the trial version, or would there be someone kind enough to convert my designed font? Thanks - it a brilliant package, but the trial is flawed in my opinion and I wouldnt buy even though it does everything and more that i want.

Re: Trial version Post by andy » Mon Jan 16, am To be honest, if this other program was as easy as yours at that price to produce it, it would be great. Ive used the one you recommended and its sorted my requirement.

Post by Revteck » Fri Jun 09, am Thanks! It's not that I don't plan on buying it! I have seen all the samples and read most of the post. I think it's awesome! But since I'm building my router now and cash is almost at a stand still, i was wondering if i could load it and play.

Some software has a time limit and i wanted to make sure it still worked when my machine was finished. That way it could tied me over till the cash was here to buy it. BTW Does it ever go on sale or have any promotions???

Now that would be an incentive. BTW keep up the great work!. Post by Burchtree » Fri Jun 09, am Hi Rev There are no time limits on the trial version. I think you may have the wrong idea of what the trial version does. The trial will give you a set number of images to work with.

These you can do anything with including saving the toolpaths and machining them. Post by dman » Fri Jun 09, am Hi Rev, I was like you and was in a bind for the cash to build a machine and buy software. I have to say that Vcarve and PhotoVcarve are the best that I have seen for the price.

I don't think you'll find a better product even close to the price that these come in at. I had the demo for about a yr. You can make the money back in short order once you start creating and showing the work around.

Tony and Brian are great when you have questions or problems as well as everybody on the forum. Get the demo and learn the software, then when the money is there you'll be ready. Good luck on the machine build and hope to see your work soon. Post by Revteck » Sat Jun 10, am You have answered all of my questions!

I figured it would not cut your designs or may just let you play with small designs under so many lines etc. and thats fine i just wanted to play with the software now and when i was up and ready to cut, try the samples. but I was worried about time limits. you guys are great and i will buy but it will be a few months.

I just ordered my axis motors, drivers and router. so I'll keep reading and learning. I'm really interested in the third version! Thanks again!
